M30 (NGC7099) is a fine globular cluster in the constellation of Capricornus. It is of 7.7mag brightness and its distance to earth is about 26.000 light-years. Its apparent size is 12´ and it can easily be seen even in binoculars. Its center is one of the densest star-regions in our Milky Way.
M30 was one of the original discoveries of Charles Messier, who cataloged it on August 3, 1764
