This Globular Cluster NGC2298 can be found in the constellation of Puppis.It seems to belong physically to the Dwarf Galaxy Canis Major,just like the Globular Cluster M79.
With a magnitude of 9.3mag and diameter of 6.5arcminutes it is a little bit darker and smaller than M79.
NGC2298 was discovered by James Dunlop in 1826.
