NGC2427 is a SAB(s)c-typed barred spiral galaxy,that  is situated near many interstellar clouds near our own milky-way in the constellation of Puppis.

Sized apparently 4,9' × 2.0' arc.min. by a magnitude of 11.6mag,its real distance amounts to about 33 mio.light-years.

John Herschel saw it first in 1835 with an 1,5m telescope.
