IC 1613 Dwarf Galaxy in Cetus

IC1613 is an irregular dwarf galaxy (typed IB(s) with a size of 16′.2 × 14′.5 and can be found in the constellation of Cetus.It was discovered by Max Wolf in 1906.Its apparent magnitude is about 10.0mag by a real distance of 2.4 mio.light years,further away than than the Magellanic Clouds.IC1613 is also a member of the local group.With a real diameter of 11.000 light years it contains many types of stars: RR Lyrae-type,Cepheid variables,a luminous blue variable and arich population of OB-type stars and OB associations.In 1999 the first nova ever in IC1613 was detected.
